Community-Informed Social Services
Eduardo Vargas, founder and Clinical Director of Aspiring View Support Services, graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2014 and began his clinical work at a methadone clinic in Humboldt Park. Back in San Antonio, he worked as a medical social worker in hospitals, home health, and hospice, witnessing deep needs in South Texas and barriers like insurance limits, cultural mistrust, and geographic isolation. After nearly four years of fragmented referrals, Eduardo acted. In October 2020, during the COVID‑19 pandemic, he and Dr. Jules Arkangel founded Aspiring View to provide culturally sensitive, accessible mental health care to homebound and remote populations. Six years later, the organization serves students, families, licensed social workers, and seniors, continuing its mission of compassionate, culturally informed support, supervision, training, and mentorship.
Mission
Aspiring View Support Services strengthens South Texas by delivering bilingual, whole-person mental health care to individuals, seniors, and the social workers who serve them. We treat co-occurring psychiatric, substance use, and medical conditions together, support seniors through complex health and aging needs, and supervise fellow social workers to extend quality care further. We connect every client and colleague to the resources they need to thrive.

Aspiring View Support Services envisions a South Texas where every resident accesses skilled, culturally responsive care; where seniors age with dignity and support; and where social workers grow through strong supervision and mentorship. We build a region where wellbeing is a shared community resource.
